Design a heavy fuel oil supply loop or animal fat
br>
In the context of heavy fuel oil feed / combustion, the burner feed requires a constant flow due to the properties of the fuel.
The viscosity of heavy fuel oil requires preheating via a reheating skid (below).
The same goes for animal fat which is used more and more nowadays.
Viscosity of heavy fuel oil: 30 cSt at 100 ° C (2000 cSt at 20 ° C).
Viscosity of animal fat: between 2 and 9 cSt at 100 ° C.
The reheating loop allows the pre-circulation to maintain the fuel temperature when the burners are stopped.
Example of a P&ID design of a two-burner heavy fuel oil network.
